Many of our clients are entitled to receive a rebate through Medicare, their Private Health Fund or the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

Although we see many clients through referrals from their doctor, it is not essential to have a referral in order to see a dietitian.

Medicare, and DVA appointments are currently approved for online consultations in most circumstances.

Some private health insurance companies may offer a rebate for video call appointments. Please contact your health insurance company directly to find out if video call sessions are covered.

If you have a chronic condition (e.g. Diabetes, Arthritis, IBS, Hypertension, High Cholesterol, PCOS and more) your GP may choose to refer you through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Care Plan for up to 5 dietitian consultations per calendar year. Patients under a CDM plan are entitled to a Medicare rebate of $58 for each consultation. Discuss your eligibility for this referral with your doctor. Your doctor must develop the plan prior to your appointment for you to be eligible for the rebate. A copy of this plan and a GP referral letter is required at the time of consultation.

Inside Health Nutrition is recognised by Private Health Funds. Most private health insurance funds will provide rebates for visits to a dietitian. The rebate amount will vary depending on your level of cover. Please contact your private health fund to see what rebate you are entitled to. No referral is required if claiming under private health cover.

Inside Health Nutrition is a registered provider with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). DVA Gold Card Holders are entitled to bulk-billed dietitian consultations (i.e. there is no out of pocket expense).  If you are an eligible DVA Gold Card Holder, please see your GP prior to your consultation to receive a DVA referral form (D904). Home visits can also be arranged if required.

Inside Health Nutrition offer a variety of concessional prices and packages dependent on the location and means of delivery. If you are already a patient of one of our practice locations, you may be eligible for a further discount off your initial consult in addition to any rebate you may receive.

Please respect that all cancellations and rescheduled appointments must be made with at least 24 hours notice. You will be given a reminder call, text or email the day prior to your appointment.
If an appointment is cancelled or changed within 24 hours of the original appointment, the equivalent to a partial or full consult fee will be charged.
We understand that in some circumstances short notice may be unavoidable, and discretion will be exercised in such cases.

Appointments require payment on the day of service. Cash, cheque and credit cards are all accepted. Skype or phone consults require processed payment prior to the consultation.
